We did our best last fall. We pranced. We flung glitter all over October 2016. We sang with sincerity and danced with anger and paraded with hope and howled and howled. We voted our hearts out. And still, here we are with our rights and the rights of our fellow humans, species, molecules being besmirched with anti-art, anti-love, anti-respect, anti-dignity, anti-livingbreathingwaterplantbreathe BULL$@(!T. Yes, we do strive to make art that's inclusive of many ages, often including kids, so pardon the language, but we don't think it's misplaced for what our newest president has brought with him. We want him and you to know that we will not be stopped or silenced until there is glitter and hope in the hearts of all.
We want you to know that The Royal Frog Ballet promotes aliveness through creativity, community, and curiosity. We understand that our individual and community health and survival is intertwined with that of all people and communities whose race, class, gender, sexuality, culture, abilities and age are too often barriers to their health and survival. We do not accept that a world that includes such racism, sexism, classism, trans/homophobia and war, violence, destruction, greed, and oppression as ours does, is our best. We do not accept that our planet needs to be ravaged in order to live. As a collective, we are learning and working to hold close the questions of what it means to be a part of this world. We use questions to frame our process of collective exploration starting with:
How do we make things that matter?
Give hugs. Give high fives. Give it your all. Thanks for being part of our magic always.
